Nintendo Wii?? WTF is More Like It!

I just sat down at my desk and I decided to read some gaming news. To my surprise (and dismay) Nintendo revealed the new name for it's upcoming next-gen console: Nintendo Wii.

Wii as in "we".

I don't blame you if you are scratching your head in confusion right now. I'm in a total state of shock. It's Revolution code name was more... well, revolutionary! It signified what the industry really needed, a change in the paradigm of video game entertainment.

And now, the "genuises" over at marketing come up with this! Were they the same ones who brainwashed Steve Jobs in using the MacBook moniker?

All I'm going to say is if Nintendo thought convincing people that horsepower isn't important and swinging around a TV remote-like device is the future of gaming, with a name like Wii they'd better be ready for the battle that awaits them this generation.

Three Down, Till Death to Go!

Yesterday was our third anniversary and I still can't believe all that time has gone by so quickly. Time flies when your having fun, they say, especially when you're with that special someone. Of course we've had our ups and downs, but doesn't every couple? Tough times and challenges always lie ahead, but the good ones greatly outnumber the bad. The most important thing is what lies deep within each other's heart and that love will conquer after all.

Thank you, my darling wife. I could never ask for a better woman to be by my side.

The Truth About Blogging

The whole weblog phenomenon exploded about a year or so ago. People connecting to the Internet, creating digital diaries, and typing their heart out to complete strangers near and far has caught on even to this day.

I also joined the brave souls in the quest for sympathetic readers who would care enough to sift through my entries and understand me as a person.

Alas, there is something I must confess...

I'm a coward.

Yes, you read correctly. Afraid, terrified, lilly-livered, yellow-bellied, chicken, and any other synonyms that you can think of apply. I've been fearful of revealing a side to me I don't understand or even want to sometimes.

Don't get me wrong. All the entries so far have been true; dramatized for your reading pleasure, of course. But there are things that have happened in between posts that I dare not mention because they're either too embarassing for the people involved or too delicate to mention here.

In the end, fell free to keep reading if you like. I won't be disappointed if after this post I lose my audience.

People aren't entirely forthcoming all the time anyway. Why should I?

Happy Birthday Mom!

Yesterday was my mom's birthday and we've always had the tradition to get the whole family together to celebrate. Unfortunately, ever since we all grew up, other responsibilities and previous engagements make it more and more difficult to round up all the siblings.

The first attempt was last Saturday when my mom called each of us to see if we could drive up to the horse ranch and have a small gathering. It saddened her that one of my brothers and I couldn't make it, but she understood that we have our own lives to tend to.

But I wasn't one to just let her birthday come and go like if it were an ordinary day. Yesterday I called my brothers and sister suggesting the idea to go and surprise her at work. We all met up at the school's parking lot; even grandma came, too! When we reached her office she was completely caught off guard and, among the singing and ice cream cake, she was really happy to see us all.

So to you, mother, have the happiest of birthday's from one of your loving sons...
