Cars: A Necessary Evil

I loathe cars. They pollute, cause accidents, and stress people out everyday. This morning I had to take our only method of transportation in for routine repairs. Later in the afternoon, I received a call from the mechanic letting me know that my car won't be ready until tomorrow afternoon. So now I'm without wheels and trying to figure out how the hell I'm gonna pick up my wife, get back to our home, and get to work tomorrow morning!

These are the times when I wish I was a Trekkie so I could teleport out of here!

Playing With Pages

Apple recently released it's own brand of productivity suite for the Mac called iWork. It includes two neat apps: Keynote 2, an upgrade to it's previous presentation software, and Pages, which they describe as "a word processor with a sense of style."

Today I got the chance to fiddle around with Pages, and let me tell you it's pretty slick. It includes a bunch of templates to get you started quickly with your content, but not having to worry about layout later. I tried making a newsletter for my wife's kindergarten class and it turned out nice. I did have a bit of trouble trying to figure out how to crop images and place them on the page, but one trip to iWork's Help Center and I found the instructions I needed.

iWork is a decent update from Apple's previous offering, AppleWorks. Unfortunately, it isn't enough to topple Microsoft's Office, but this is only the beginning!

Back To Blogging!

Wow. I just noticed I haven't written anything about my life in the past 3 months! Talk about your severe case of writer's block.

Anyway, inspiration has struck again and I'll probably be here occasionaly, writing about this and that all over again. At least I know a very special someone who keeps tabs on what I'm doing, and what I'm not, every day.

So, keep looking and don't blink 'cause you might miss a new post!
