Master's Degree: Day 1

Previous Episode: Masters Of The University

It was almost 5pm; time to pick up my stuff and get ready to head for college. It was yesterday that I was sweating due to being both excited and anxious to start my Master's Degree in Computer Science. I hopped the train to Roosevelt Ave. and then walked over to where the next chapter in my education would begin. I was amazed at the amount of people traversing the college's inner courtyard. It was a feeling I had when I began my Bachelor's in Mayagüez so long ago. It was good to be a student again. Since I was short on time, I dashed to the cafeteria and ate a quick dinner before going to class, something I would regret later. After wolfing down my meal, I power-walked towards the L Building, home to the Computer Science Department. There I met up with the Associate Director which directed me to the classroom. Along the way he introduced me to the professor for the course, a german doctor who looked more like a held-back student rather than an esteemed colleague of the department. Nevertheless I entered the classroom and took my seat in the front row. The professor began his lecture and he went on and on and on and on... to a point where the information was going in one ear and leaving out the other. The deadly combination of an early morning wake-up, a rushed, heavy dinner and the four hour-long class took effect and I could feel my entire brain slow down to a halt. Now I have to turn in a computer program for next Wednesday, which I have no clue as how to do it, and on Saturday I have another class with the same professor.

Not bad for my first day as a Master's Degree Student...
