Weekend Recap And More
Like I said in my previous post, last week was not an easy one for me. I was drowning in work, plagued by office stress, lack of sleep, and much more. But, even though some things were turning for the worst, I had one or two good moments. Let me see if I can recall (almost) everything that happened.
Last tuesday I saw Spiderman 2 with my wife and a couple of friends. Since it was the Midnight show, we stood in line for about 4 hours to get good seats. The movie was great, matching most of my expectations. I did have one or two tiny gripes about some plot points, but they didn't ruin the movie as a whole for me. All in all, I recommend you see the webslinger in action.
On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of last week I was in the final stages of our office network seperation/configuration fiasco. The word headache does not even come close to describe what I experienced setting everything up. More like a nightmare if you ask me! A lot of problems came up and the order in which we did things just made matters worse. In the end all more or less got worked out and the network is running; not very smoothly, but working nonetheless.
The weekend, on the other hand, was quite swell. Friday my wife and I headed on down to Cidra for the celebration of her cousin's Quinceañero. The drive was no easy task since the main road was blocked due to a small landslide and we had to detour through the winding roads up the mountain side. But we eventually arrived, safe of course, and met with my wife's family. We ate, we danced and enjoyed each other's company. Definitely a much needed departure from all that the week had thown at me.
On Sunday my wife and I mostly stayed indoors, except later when a married couple, which are friends of ours, called us up to go out to take a swim at their uncle's pool. The day did not agree with our plan since it rained cats and dogs. So my wife and I ate a late lunch over at Chili's and met up with our friends and just hung out with them before they were supposed to leave the next day.
Monday morning was July 5th and a day off for most of us. Alas, rest was not an option since our apartment was due for a cleaning a couple of weeks ago. We got right to it, from washing the dishes to vacuuming and mopping the floor. After this arduous task, we decided to visit my wife's aunt and uncle over at Las Piedras. When we arrived they had a succulent dinner almost ready. The menu was pork chops, rice and beans with a side salad. We were stuffed and then headed back home before we got sleepy from overeating!
So, more or less in a couple of paragraphs I managed to sum up the highs and lows of the past few days. I'll try to make sure to update more often. Scout's honor!
