The Wrath of the IT Manager

Honestly, I sometimes ask myself why I even bother to help people. I do what I know is my job, then somebody gets up in my face about it.

Questions anyone? I thought so.

The thing is that this afternoon at my workplace we were having trouble with some VCRs. I, of course being the office tech-head, was sent to remedy the situation. For the VCRs to record, they have to be shut down after programming them, a concept not understood by one of the ladies present. So, she and other employees were watching the news while I reprogrammed the timers. As soon as I turned off the VCR, the image turned black. She immediately complained the second that happened. I explained what I was doing, but to no avail. "Wait for that report to end, THEN fix the VCR!" she explaimed. I felt a surge of anger flow through me (I can hear the Emperor's theme now) and answered "Well, next time I won't do anything so you won't have the report on tape." I stormed out of there thinking I should of just walked away, but when things like this happen, reason is like in a totally different place.
