Mediocre Song Of Horrors
Just now I was browsing the Soundtrack section of the iTunes Music Store when I saw the album for the new Broadway rendition of Little Shop Of Horrors. There have been many incarnations, 2 on film and 2 on stage. The original was a dark comedy released in 1960. The next came to the stage in 1982, which was turned into a musical. In 1986, it was brought to the screen again with the same musical numbers, but with a different ending. Finally, last year they did what is called a Revival, but what I've heard from the songs so far they should've left it buried! The actor who portrays Seymour (Hunter Foster) tries way to hard to imitate his predecessors which makes him sound fake. Don't get me started on the new Audrey (Kerry Butler), 'cause she sounds more like a groomed, high society snob rather than that "goil wit' da accent" from Skid Row. And I was almost considering to purchase it, too. Terribly disappointing, to say the least.
