Hollywood Here I Come!

Last night I finally finished editing my first ever digital movie sequence!

When I bought my new PowerBook last October I had some goals in mind. Editing movies was one of them. When my friend Digital needed help to edit a short movie, I volunteered without hesitation. He then transferred to my laptop the rather heavy 5.6 gigabyte raw footage he took a while back. I then scoured the net for a... demo version of Apple's Final Cut Express.

So far I've learned about sequences, In and Out markers, and non-destructive linear editing. The program is really great and I'm even considering buying it in the not too distant future. With it, I quickly managed to seperate the shots and combine them into my first rough cut. It's not ready for the Silver Screen just yet, but I'm getting the hang of it.

So, watch out Peter Jackson and George Lucas!
