The Final Farewell

Previous Episode: The Late "Great Communicator"

On Friday evening, my wife and I stayed home and watched the burial of Ex President Ronald Reagan. It was an event full of rememberance and sorrow. His 3 children spoke on his behalf and their words were heartfelt, sad, but with a pinch of humor. They all said beautiful things of Mr. Reagan as a father and as the leader of their country.

I confess I cried my eyes out, not only because of all the emotions, but what I remember of my grandfather. In some way or another, when the children referred to certain qualities of the Ex President, I imagined they were talking of my grandfather. As a matter of fact, the anniversary of his passing I believe is this Sunday. It's been a while since I last went to visit his final resting place. I might go during the early afternoon.

Mr. Ronald Reagan is now resting in the Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. I hope to go someday and pay my respects.
