Close... but no cigar, I mean, crown!

We didn't take the Miss Universe crown tonight, but I personally didn't expect us to get so far! Third place is not bad, but I'm no beauty pageant expert, so don't pay any attention to my ramblings.

Honestly, I didn't even want to watch the damn thing! The power wives have over their husbands is something to fear... ;-)

Going back to the contest, my favorites were Colombia and India. Alas, both didn't even reach the final five. Good thing I'm not a betting man!

I can't wait to hear what people have to say about the pageant, especially the lame production value. Gloria Estefan would agree with me! Her mic was dead, the music was out of synch, the initial presentation of the contestants had a couple of hiccups... The list goes on and on.

Finally, thank God that they didn't block the channel, only able to view it through local channels. My past experience with the Oscars was horrendous! I hope they don't do that ever again, even though I realize my gripe will fall on deaf ears. :-S

Oh, and congrats to the aussies on their new queen. G'day, mates!
